To make it in the industry, you have to be the whole package — you have to look the part, dress the pat, and be über popular. These days in hip-hop, very few artists are out of shape or unattractive. However, back in the day, the 90s/early 2000s, looks were’t at the top of the list.

From Biggie Smalls to Missy Elliott, no one cared if their favorite artist was a little overweight or not the cutest in the face. One of Roc-A-Fella’s OG legends, who was known for his husky weight, has resurfaced 150 lbs lighter.
